- Study and work in an environment free from discrimination and harassment.
- Report misconduct without fear of retaliation.
- Have your complaint investigated promptly and fairly.
- Be treated with dignity and respect throughout the process.
LAU has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

Every member of the LAU community shares responsibility for maintaining a safe and respectful environment:
- Attend LAU educational and training programs on preventing discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct.
- Ensure your conduct does not cause harm or offense.
- Speak up or report if you witness discrimination, harassment or misconduct.
What does our policy mean in practice?
Discrimination
Unfair or less favorable treatment of someone based on protected personal characteristics, such as age, race, gender, religion, disability or other legally protected status.
Harassment
Unwelcome physical, verbal, visual or online conduct that demeans, humiliates or creates a hostile environment. This may include bullying, stalking, jokes, slurs, unwanted touching or intimidation.
Sexual Misconduct
Any sexual contact or behavior without affirmative consent. This includes sexual assault, coercion, intimidation or any form of non-consensual sexual activity.
Retaliation
Acts of reprisal, intimidation or harassment against any person who reports a concern in good faith, participates in an investigation or supports someone making a report.
